Hey Grandma Lorene. Let me tell you about the birds...

Three weeks ago we discovered a bird's nest on our front porch behind the light. A week later we discovered hatching eggs in the nest. Now they are growing baby birds (finches).

I cannot remember the date that this was taken, but it has been since February this year. She made the cupcakes all by herself.

May 1, 2009 was Kindergarten registration. She was so excited about her new school. We took her to the new school at 9:30 am. While we were filling out the paperwork, the Kindergarten teachers took all the new Kindergarteners on a bus ride around the parking lot. They did crafts and had a snack. We took Kara back to daycare at noon. When we picked her up the teacher told us that when Kara woke up from her nap she told the teacher that she dreamed about her new school.

I just turned my back a minute...

Really, I turned my back then I heard "hey, Mom look". And when I turned around this is what I found. This is a 2 sided rock climbing wall at Newport News Park. She has a blast!!!

Kara always picks up less eggs than eveyone else because she has so much fun watching the other kids running around sneaking (or snatching) eggs from each other.

April 10, 2009 - Check out the blue eye shadow.
She found makeup in her goodie bag from Destany's birthday party. Poor Dora. She never asked to be a guinea pig. The first photo is just the first application. The other picture is the finished product: eye shadow, blush and lip color (5 coats).

Library Book Honoring Our Girl

When Kara was born the hospital gave us a folder of stuff. One of the items in the folder was a library card that said that when we activated it they would dedicate a book in the library to her. We finally activated the card when she turned 4 yrs old. They sent us a letter informing us that the book dedicated to her is called "Hush-A-Bye Counting" by Kris Aro McLeod. We went to borrow it from the library but, the librarian said that all 4 copies were checked out. We told her that we wanted to reserve the one that has Kara's name in it. She said she did not know which one contained her name honorary nameplate. A couple of days later Kara and I picked up the reserved book from the library. Can you believe it... it was the one.

March 2009 - What!!!! You told my boss that I did this to you? If you get me fired you will have to support me.

Claudia's Birthday Party - March 22, 2009

1st time with ice skates on. She did not ice skate, but it was a big deal to just try them on.

Reading tho the Dogs

March 15, 2009 - Reading to the dogs at the regional library.
...and the animals said to the hippo, "take your towel"...
Kara read (interpreted the pictures) different books to 6 different dogs. She was having so much fun. She would not leave until they kicked us out. They offer this "Reading to the Dogs" once a month, so I see that this is going to be a regular thing.
